PH value is neutral, decomposition at 400℃. Index content ≥98%, water ≤0.5%, calcium ≥30%. Calcium formate is white or slightly yellow powder or crystal, non-toxic, slightly bitter taste, insoluble in alcohol, not delixing, soluble in water, aqueous solution is neutral, non-toxic. The solubility of calcium formate does not change much with the increase of temperature, 16g/100g water at 0℃, 18.4g/100g water at 100℃, and decomposition at 400℃.
Action mechanism
Calcium formate, as a new type of feed additive developed at home and abroad, has a wide range of uses, suitable for all kinds of animal feed as acidifying agent, mildew prevention agent, antibacterial agent, can replace citric acid, fumaric acid and other feed acidifying agent used, can reduce and regulate the gastrointestinal PH value, promote digestion and absorption of nutrients, and has disease prevention and health care functions. Especially for piglets, the effect is more significant.
As a feed additive, calcium formate is especially suitable for weaned piglets. It can affect the proliferation of intestinal microorganisms, activate pepsinogen, improve the energy utilization of natural metabolites, improve feed conversion rate, prevent diarrhea, dysenter, improve the survival rate and daily weight gain rate of piglets. At the same time, calcium formate also has the effect of preventing mold and keeping fresh.
In recent years, the overall level of feed formulation has improved rapidly. Most feed nutrients are adequate or even excessive. What needs to be solved now are the substitution of antibiotics, mycotoxins and optimization of nutrition utilization. The concept of "feed acid power" has also been paid more and more attention as an important parameter to measure the pH level of feed.
As we all know, the digestion, absorption, immunity and other life activities in various animals need to be carried out in a water environment with appropriate PH. The PH value of the gastrointestinal tract is moderate, and digestive enzymes and various beneficial bacteria can play a better role. Otherwise, the digestion and absorption rate is low, harmful bacteria breed, not only diarrhea, but also greatly affect the health and production performance of the animal body. In the typical stage of Suckling piglets, the young pigs themselves have poor resistance and insufficient secretion of stomach acid and digestive enzymes. If the dietary acid is high, various problems often occur.
Apply
Experiments have shown that adding calcium formate to feed can free a trace amount of formic acid in animals, reduce the PH value of the gastrointestinal tract, and have a buffering effect, which is conducive to the stability of the PH value in the gastrointestinal tract, thus inhibiting the reproduction of harmful bacteria and promoting the growth of beneficial microorganisms, such as the growth of lactobacillus, so as to cover the intestinal mucosa from the invasion of toxins. In order to control and prevent the occurrence of bacteria-related diarrhea, dysentery and other phenomena, the addition amount is generally 0.9%-1.5%. Calcium formate as an acidifier, compared with citric acid, in the feed production process will not delix, good fluidity, PH value is neutral, will not cause equipment corrosion, directly added to the feed can prevent vitamins and amino acids and other nutrients are destroyed, is an ideal feed acidifier, can completely replace citric acid, fumaric acid and so on.
A German study found that calcium formate added to piglet diet by 1.3% can improve feed conversion by 7-8%; Addition of 0.9% can reduce the occurrence of diarrhea; Adding 1.5% can improve the growth rate of piglets by 1.2%, and the feed conversion rate by 4%. Adding 1.5% grade 175mg/kg copper can increase the growth rate by 21% and the feed conversion rate by 10%. Domestic studies have shown that adding 1-1.5% calcium formate to the first 8 Sunday diets of piglets can prevent diarrhea and diarrhea, improve the survival rate, increase feed conversion rate by 7-10%, reduce feed consumption by 3.8%, and increase the daily gain of pigs by 9-13%. Adding calcium formate to silage can increase the content of lactic acid, reduce the content of casein and increase the nutrient composition of silage.
As a feed additive, calcium formate is especially suitable for weaned piglets. It can affect the proliferation of intestinal microorganisms, activate pepsinogen, improve the energy utilization of natural metabolites, improve feed conversion rate, prevent diarrhea and diarrhea, and improve the survival rate and daily weight gain rate of piglets.
As a new type of feed additive developed at home and abroad, feed grade calcium formate is widely used in all kinds of animal feed as an acidifier, mildew prevention agent, antibacterial agent, can reduce and regulate the gastrointestinal PH value, promote digestion and absorption of nutrients, and has disease prevention and health care functions, especially for piglets more significant.
The acid power of feed is mainly influenced by the use of inorganic minerals (such as stone powder, which has an acid power of more than 2800). Even if a large amount of fermented soybean meal is used, the acid power is still far from the ideal level (the industry generally believes that the acid power of piglet feed should be 20-30). The solution is to add additional organic acids, or directly replace inorganic acids with organic acids. Generally, the first consideration is the replacement of stone powder (calcium).
The most commonly used organic calcium or acidifiers are calcium lactate, calcium citrate, and calcium formate. Although calcium lactate has many advantages, the calcium content is only 13%, and the cost of addition is too high, and it is generally only used in high-end teaching trough materials. Calcium citrate, is more moderate, water solubility is not good, containing calcium 21%, previously thought that palatability is good, the actual is not so. Calcium formate is recognized by more and more feed enterprises because of its high calcium content (30%), good antibacterial advantages of small molecule formic acid, and its secretory effect on some proteases.
The early application of calcium sulfate is not widely, but also related to its quality. Some of the waste (para-) calcium formate is more irritating. In fact, the real good acid calcium made of products, although still a little bit of calcium formate unique micro bitter, but far from affecting palatability. The key is the control of product quality.
As a relatively simple acid salt, calcium formate quality can be basically distinguished by whiteness, crystallinity, transparency, dispersion and meltwater experiments. Fundamentally speaking, its quality depends on the quality of the two raw materials. All aspects of the cost process are transparent, and you get what you pay for.
When calcium formate is applied to feed, 1.2-1.5kg of stone powder can be replaced per 1kg, which reduces the acid power of the total feed system by more than 3 points. To achieve the same effect, its cost is much lower than calcium citrate. Of course, anti-diarrhea can also reduce the amount of zinc oxide and antibiotics.
Currently commonly used compound acidifiers also contain calcium formate, and even calcium formate accounts for nearly 70% or 80%. This also confirms the role and significance of calcium formate. Some formulators use calcium formate as an essential ingredient.
Under the current tide of non-resistance, acidifier products and plant essential oils, micro-ecological preparations, etc., have their own effects. Calcium formate as a trend product in the acidifier, regardless of effect or cost, is the most worthy of consideration and change.
