Sodium acetate is used in sewage treatment

Sodium acetate was not originally used in the water treatment industry, it has been used in the printing and dyeing industry. Just because the sewage treatment industry is booming in recent years, and it really needs sodium acetate to improve the sewage treatment index. That’s why it’s used in the sewage industry.

The effects of mud age (SRT) and additional carbon source (sodium acetate solution) on nitrogen and phosphorus removal were studied. Sodium acetate was used as a carbon source to acclimate the denitrification sludge, and then the rise of pH value was controlled within 0.5 by buffer solution. Denitrifying bacteria can overabsorb CH3COONa, so the effluent COD value can be maintained at a low level when CH3COONa is used as additional carbon source for denitrification. At present, the sewage treatment of all cities and counties needs to add sodium acetate as a carbon source if it wants to meet the discharge level I standard.
